St. Fu Take #2!

Despite it originally being an "off" weekend, St. Fu fought hard and took 2nd place pn Saturday 04/07/12 at Heritage Park in McDonough, competing against some C teams for a chance at first. They beat 12-Pack and only lost to Nemesis by 1 run (2 of the best C teams out there). Brooke continued the Left Center Field tradition of the "serial sniper." After the tournament they enjoyed a good, ole' fashion game of Red Rover with some ladies from 12-Packs team. Overall it was a beautiful day, but no one remembered to snag some photos.

Next up, they are still scheduled for the 2nd Worth tourney in the series on 04/28/12. Stay tuned between now and then for more information. Let's go St. Fu!

Worth Series #1

St. Fu kicks off this weekend tournament, Saturday at 11:10 am at Metro on field 3. Can't wait to see everyone! Let's go St. Fu!

04/01/12 - TOURNEY UPDATE

It was a beautiful day for ball. St. Fu went 1-2 as we struggled offensively. Overall we had a blast and that's the most important thing. :)

Special thanks to all the extra players who came out and played with us.

St. Fu plays again on 04/28/12 for the 2nd round in the Worth Series. Check back soon for more information as it comes up.

Veni, Vidi, Non Vici

We played at Al Bishop Softball Complex in Austell, Georgia this past weekend. We got to enjoy some nice fields and the weather was beautiful!

We started off the tournament against the "E" team Half & Half, but what we saw out there wasn't the same team we saw a few weeks ago. We suffered a loss to start off our day.

The second game was against Bama Heat and our bats seemed to struggle, but we never gave up! We won by 1 run in the 8th inning!

The third game was to be our last game of the day. Aside from the struggles playing, we had some great plays from Amy, Jamie, Courtney, and Dara. Sheron had 3 multiple base hits in a row in a game. She was on fire!

We had  a good time celebrating St. Patty's Day in between games and cheering on Chris & Mike from the Mud Dawgs!

We finally got to meet Dara and welcome her to the team. She makes a great addition to the outfield and we look forward to playing with her again soon!

A special thanks to Stacey for helping Rayna on the pitcher's mound. We look forward to playing with her again soon. Good luck to her and her team until then.

We were also able to snag some pictures from Zoë from our last tournament (Conyers). She took a lot of photos this last time, too, and I can't wait to see how they turn out. Check out the latest ones:

Close but No Cigar

We almost played at Hunter Park this weekend but, alas, the tournament didin't make. On the bright side, some of us will be playing with our co-ed team, Mud Dawgs, instead. It's this Saturday at Wilkersonville Park in Palmetto. Check out the Mud Dawgs' page link for more information.

It's A No Go

Looks like St. Fu is taking the weekend off and will not be playing this weekend. We are scheduled to play again on St. Patty's Day at Al Bishop. Who will be drinking green beer with me?!

Happy Birthday Cindy! We take 2nd!

This past Saturday at Johnson Park in Conyers was pretty but the wind kept it chilly most of the day until evening fell. We started off with a win against the E team, Half & Half, 8-5 (having spot them 4 runs).

We passed the pre-game bat inspection and went on to win the next two games to lead us to the winner's bracket game against the C team, Crossfire. We suffered our first loss of the day, losing 22-15 (after they spot us 4).

We won the next game against the D team, Ballbusters, to come back and face Crossfire again in the Championship game. We led the game until the 6th inning, when a combination of some fielding errors and good hits from the other team, led us to take second place overall, 16-8 (after the 4 spot).

Zoe took first in the number of RBI's. Jackie & Kate each hit an in-the-park homerun! All in all, everyone did an awesome job! We also had some great laughs at some funny bloopers too!

We celebrated Cindy's birthday during a break at Buffalo Wild Wings with some colorful cupcakes. Cindy loved them so much she decided to wear them too! Lol. Happy Birthday C-Ho!

We would like to thank Jackie, Nikki, Kate & Ashleigh for playing with us this weekend. The did an excellent job and we enjoyed playing with them. We look forward to playing again with them in the future, but until then, good luck with your normal teams!

Stats have been updated. To view them, click on the link under Stats (on the left hand side of the page), and then press open at the prompt. Bear has been gracious enough to talley all the information from both tourneys so far and has done a great job. Thanks Bear!

I'm waiting on Zoe for more pics from the weekend, so check back soon to see when these are added.

St. Fu is scheduled to play in McDonough next on March 3, 2012.

Hey Batter, Batter

We are playing at Johnson Park in Conyers this weekend. First game is Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on field 4 against an E team called "Half & Half." We will have to spot them 4 runs. Let's go St. Fu!

In other news, we may have a nice bat for sale. Check back for more information and photos coming soon!

Bats, Balls, Friends & Flurries

[Amy, Bear & Brooke showing their wild side]

Despite the blusterous winds and freezing temperatures, we took First Place in pool play on Saturday. We went 2-1 with our only loss to Havoc. Our coach, Cindy, happily excepted a brand new bat (Mayhem 454?) from the tournament director on our behalf. We could have stayed and played the other pool winner for a chance to win another bat, but we all agreed we were ready to go home and be warm instead.

[Ball one!]

Special thanks go out to Ayanna & Kate for braving the cold and playing with our team this weekend. We enjoyed playing with you guys and look forward to playing together again soon! Good luck with your other teams until then!

[Trying to stay warm in the dug out]

I'm still waiting on some stats from Cindy. Look at the bottom of the page to view more pics from this weekend. Thanks to Dina & Bear for providing pictures from the tournament.

St. Fu is scheduled to play again 02.25.12 in Conyers. Stay tuned.

Winter Down Time

During the last couple of months, we have been very busy with the holidays, celebrating new homes, birthdays and baby showers with team mates and others in the softball family community.
[Kelli (post injury), Cindy, Brooke & Bear enjoy a night at the roller rink for Zoe's birthday!]
We had our first team meeting a few weeks ago, devised a schedule and agreed on a new look.
[Cindy, Kelli, Brooke & Amy @ Taco Mac after the team meeting.]
[Amy & Courtney cheesin' it up @ Taco Mac]
Today was our second practice of the season and the bats looked great. We are super excited to get the season rolling with our first tournament next weekend at the Metro Softball Complex near Atlanta.
[ Lunch after practice at McD's (Courtney, Sheron, Amy, Bear & Cindy)]
[Sheron & Courtney's daughter having fun in the play area.]
Uniforms have been ordered and are expected to arrive before the big day! Let's get this season started!

New Year, New Name

Last year, we were known as The Throwbacks. A good bit of the team has stayed together and we are now called St. Fu (Saint Fu). We are currently working on a logo and uniforms for this season. Our first practice is this Sunday, 1/29/12. Our first tournament is scheduled for 2/11/12, and is weather permitting.
